Battery
Ten habits that decide how long your EV battery lasts
A pack is the most expensive part of the vehicle and the one owners treat worst. Most early deaths are behavioural.

Two identical scooters, same brand, same warranty. One battery is still strong at four years and the other is flat at eighteen months. The difference is almost never the cell — it is the charging habit around it.
The habits that matter
- 1Do not run it to zero routinely. Deep discharge is the fastest way to shorten both lead-acid and lithium life.
- 2Charge to full only when you need it. For daily use, unplugging around 80–90% is gentler and barely costs you range.
- 3Never use the wrong charger. Match chemistry, voltage and current. A lead-acid charger on a lithium pack is a short, expensive lesson.
- 4Let the pack cool after a long ride before plugging in. Charging a hot battery is charging a stressed battery.
- 5Store it half-charged if the vehicle will sit. A flat pack left for a monsoon can go into a protection state it will not come back from.
- 6Do not charge in direct Chandigarh noon sun. Ambient heat is the enemy more often than the charger is.
- 7Keep the connectors clean and dry. A corroded charging port presents as a dead battery and costs a replacement you did not need.
- 8Get the periodic health check we call you for. A falling capacity curve caught early is a warranty claim; the same curve found after expiry is ₹20,000.
- 9Ride the throttle smoothly. Repeated hard acceleration draws current in spikes, heats the pack, and adds range you were never really going to use.
- 10Fix a range drop early. Losing 20% of range quickly is a symptom — one weak cell, a controller fault, a tyre pressure problem — and the diagnosis is cheap while it is small.
What is normal degradation
Every pack loses capacity. A well-treated lithium pack losing a few percent a year is behaving normally, not failing. What is not normal is a sudden step down, a vehicle that cuts power when the load rises, or charging that stops far short of full.
And when warranty ends
The question owners ask us last and should ask first: what happens when the warranty is over. Options are a full pack replacement, a module-level repair when one cell group has fallen away, or a chemistry upgrade while you are paying for the work anyway. Which is sensible depends on the vehicle’s remaining life, not on our stock. Bring it in and we will tell you the least expensive honest answer.
